Knotweed

     Knotweed is herbal plant which grows on edge of roads, in ditches, among cultures and between paving stones and contains soluble silicon, flavones, tannins, vitamin C, fats, sugars, mucilage and traces of volatile oil and have anti-inflammatory, healing, soothing, astringent and re mineralizing properties.

     Knotweed leaves are drying in ventilated or hot air drying at a temperature of 40 degrees C places and are used for internal and external treatments as infusion, decoction, tea, tincture, powder, wine and ointment. Knotweed is available also as juice, but this is a very difficult operation.

     Knotweed is a good astringent which helps to increase appetite, to treat wounds like hemorrhoids, cuts, treat rheumatism, atherosclerosis, kidney disease, respiratory disease, menstrual disorders, bronchitis, pulmonary edema, cystitis, nephritis, gastro esophageal reflux, gastritis, ulcer disease, diarrhea, stomach ulcers, diabetes, gout, menstrual bleeding and stimulates digestion, good diarrhea. In kidney problems, helps to remove sand. Knotweed helps to combat fatigue, which means has well re mineralizing properties. 

     Even that is hard to obtain due to plant low secretion, the knotweed juice is ideal for bleeding and internal ulcers.

     Knotweed is used in obesity because regulate hunger needs and accelerate fat burning.

     Knotweed in external treatments as poultices and compresses in skin diseases and its annexes, hair and nails, as tea, powders and ointments in bleeding disorders like wounds, bruises, hemorrhoids and anal fissures leaking blood. In hemorrhoids and anal fissures problems knotweed is used as internal treatment as tea, tincture or wine and externally as washing compresses and ointments with knotweed tea.

     In combination with ground marc and dry clay is used in treatment of “water knee”.

     Before using wrinkle creams or antioxidant the effect of these creams is improved by applying prior knotweed tea compresses.
